Portico GB Ltd is a leading subcontractor to the new build industry based in Woolpit near Bury St Edmunds who supply and install windows, doors, conservatories, sliding wardrobes and more.

We are looking for a Contracts Manager to join our expanding team.

Role responsibilities for the Contracts Manager:

  • Conduct pre-start meetings on site with the site teams to establish a working plan for the development
  • Discussions with site teams including the call off procedure for installation, access/lifting, explaining the product and its parameters, what we expect to be provided by the site team and what we will provide, the capabilities of our operatives and workloads that can be achieved, our sign off procedure, our snagging procedure, health and safety requirements, relevant contacts and a programme for the development for future planning
  • Perform site visits to check on progress of live developments and record snag works
  • Meet with site teams and installation teams as required and complete site surveys
  • Complete site specific risk assessments and ensure these are kept up to date
  • Conduct meetings for forward planning of site requirements through the review of schedules and year end completion requirements
  • Collate and monitor health and safety on site, fitter performance, quality of work and vehicle cleanliness ready for discussion at monthly fitters meetings
  • All visits to be followed up with an ‘as you leave’ report
  • Report and liaise with the Wardrobes Coordinator and Internal Contracts Manager to ensure all issues are resolved

Requirements for the Contracts Manager:

  • A strong understanding of all aspects of the contracting process
  • Great people management skills
  • Ability to work well within a team, as well as independently
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
  • Well-organised and proactive
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Ability to maintain a professional manner when on-site or in an office environment
